NEW: Picnic service in Steinwald & Waldnaabtal
Starting in mid-June, we'll deliver a fully packed and chilled picnic basket. You can choose between a picnic by the refreshing Waldnaab River or in the shady woods of the southern Steinwald forest. The great thing about it: You don't have to worry about a thing, because in addition to the culinary delicacies, this service also includes drinks, dishes, cutlery, and a blanket. This makes the outing a delicious experience – because, as we all know, fresh air makes you hungry!
The picnic service is available from Monday to Saturday.

2nd edition of the illustrated book "Steinreich" about Steinwald Nature Park now available
Three years after the first publication of the illustrated book "Steinreich - Naturpark Steinwald," the second edition is now being published by Battenberg Gietl Verlag. A new chapter on the work of the nature park rangers is included. Numerous photos have also been updated.
Organic Experiences 2024: A whole year through the Steinwald Eco-Model Region
In 2024, everything in the Steinwald region will revolve around organic experiences! Over 50 events invite you to enjoy and discover until October. The annual program "Organic Experiences in the Steinwald Alliance" combines sporty discovery tours of organic farms, informative tours of certified organic farms, as well as culinary evening menus and cooking classes. Training to become a path warden on March 18, 2023
The Steinwald Alliance is looking for new trail wardens and will train them in a basic training course on Saturday, March 18, 2023, starting at 9:00 a.m. in Friedenfels. Trail wardens will be responsible for maintaining signage and trail conditions on a regular basis.
Max Reger year in fire
150 years ago, composer Max Reger was born in the municipality of Brand/Opf. To mark the anniversary, the Cultural Promotion Association (KFK) is organizing a cultural program from March to November 2023, featuring various lectures and concerts dedicated to the honorary citizen of Brand.
TV report: MTB sports in Steinwald and Stiftland
On November 13, 2022, the BR program "Bergauf-Bergab" (Up and Down) addressed the interaction between hikers and mountain bikers in the Steinwald and Stiftland forests. Joint efforts are currently underway in the Steinwald forest to prevent conflicts on particularly popular trail sections. The camera team accompanied local mountain bikers for two days along the German-Czech border. Many aspects of the area still recall the Cold War era.

Garbage collection campaign in the Steinwald
The Steinwald Nature Park near Fuchsmühl and Pfaben has become a bit cleaner again. On Saturday, September 3, 2022, the Steinwald Alliance and the Steinwald Nature Park organized a Rama-dama activity for children as part of the Erbendorf and Fuchsmühl holiday programs.
Awarded as a Quality Nature Park
On March 28, 2022, the Steinwald Nature Park was awarded the Quality Nature Park seal by Environment Minister Thorsten Glauber. This award is only given to nature parks with outstanding achievements in nature conservation.

New MTB trail in the southern Steinwald
The new mountain bike trail in the Steinwald between Waldhausand Pfaben has been open to the public since the end of August 2021, replacing the single trail of the Forest History Trail, which is now only accessible to hikers. The "DIMB - IG Stoapfalz" cycling club is responsible for the new 2.39 km section of the "Stoapfalz-Saubad Trail" in consultation with the BAYSF, Steinwald Nature Park eV, and the Tirschenreuth Nature Conservation Authority.
We won!"Organic Enjoyment" is the most beautiful community event
Six restaurants in the Steinwald Alliance each served delicious menus featuring regional organic ingredients on one evening in October 2020. The idea behind it: Guests enjoy fantastic dishes while learning the ins and outs of the regional organic products used from representatives of the organic producers. The event has now been recognized as part of the "Organic Experience Days" program.
Dream winter in the Stone Forest is slowly coming to an end
This winter offered plenty of variety. Since the snow began, Heinrich Denz has completed almost 30 runs through the Steinwald cross-country ski trail network with the "Pisten-Bully 100."
