Project manager Elisabeth Waldeck registered Bio-Genießen 2020 along with various other events for the Bavarian Organic Experience Days and also wrote the application for "Most Beautiful Event" – the idea was a winning one! The Steinwald Eco-Model Region received the award in the Joint Event category for Bio-Genießen, along with the Waginger See-Rupertiwinkel Eco-Model Region, which was honored for its "Organic Pleasure Cycling Tour."
Johannes Reger, Mayor of Erbendorf and Chairman of the Steinwald Alliance, and Elisabeth Waldeck, project manager of the Steinwald Eco-Model Region, traveled to Upper Bavaria for the Organic Experience Days awards ceremony on the grounds of the Olching farm kindergarten, herself one of the award winners. "The award shows that we are on the right path to raising awareness of organic food in people's minds," said Johannes Reger.
Representing Michaela Kaniber, Bavarian State Minister for Food, Agriculture and Forestry, Wolfgang Wintzer, Head of the Department of Organic Farming at StMELF, together with Hubert Heigl, Chairman of the Bavarian State Association for Organic Farming (LVÖ Bayern), and Organic Queen Annalena I, presented the awards for the "Most Beautiful Organic Experience Days 2020."
Hubert Heigl, Chairman of the Bavarian Association of Organic Farmers, was impressed by the award winners' commitment: "With your events at the Organic Experience Days, you are making a significant contribution to promoting more organic products in and from Bavaria. Because where food comes from and how it was produced plays an increasingly important role in purchasing decisions. With your Organic Experience Days, you are giving people the opportunity to experience with all their senses what organic farming and food production means: It protects the environment and climate, ensures the welfare of our livestock, offers a future for Bavarian farms, and produces food of outstanding quality and unique taste."
Minister of State Michaela Kaniber said to the winners: "With a lot of passion, heart and soul, and incredibly great events, you have managed to inspire local people about our local organic farming and its many wonderful organic products."
Other award winners were the Berghof Schudt in Schöllkrippen for a goat festival, the beekeeping company "Die Bienenhüter" from Nuremberg for an "open day", the Demeter winery Helmut Christ Nordheim am Main and the farm kindergarten Olching.
