Anniversary year on the occasion of Max Reger's 150th birthday

"The great son of the small community" – this is the nickname given to the famous composer and conductor Max Reger in the municipality of Brand. He was born 150 years ago in Brand in the Tirschenreuth district, more precisely on March 19, 1873. To mark this anniversary, the Cultural Promotion Association of Brand (KFK) is organizing the Max Reger Year in 2023, with numerous events centered around the honorary citizen of Brand.

Eröffnet wird das Festjahr an Regers Geburtstag (19. März 2023) mit einem Orgelkonzert, zu dem Domorganist Professor Franz-Josef Stoiber nach Brand kommt. An diesem Konzert beteiligen sich auch die "Brander Chöre" mit zwei Chorsätzen. Bis 11. November 2023 bieten verschiedene Vorträge, Kammer-, Chor- und Orgelkonzerte Einblicke in Regers Schaffen. Ein Höhepunkt des Reger-Jahres ist der Vortrag "Max Reger - Von Brand in die Welt" von Claudia Seidl, wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Max-Reger-Institut in Karlsruhe am 25. Mai 2023. Musikalisch wird der Abend umrahmt von dem Ensemble "StimmGold" aus Regensburg. Auch die Gastronomie bietet während des Festjahres "musikalische" Schmankerl an – vom Max-Reger-Schnitzel bis zum Laugengebäck in Form eines Notenschlüssels.

Thursday, May 25: Lecture evening "Max Reger - From Brand to the World" with Claudia Seidl (research associate at the Max Reger Institute Karlsruhe) and musical accompaniment by "StimmGold" in the multi-purpose hall Brand
Sunday, July 30: Chamber concert with Dr. Stefan Daubner and his wife Marie-Therese with piano and cello in the multi-purpose hall Brand
Tuesday, August 15: Summer concert with the ensemble of the Festival of Young Artists Bayreuth in the multi-purpose hall Brand
Tuesday, October 3: Concert with organist Michael Pfeiffer and tenor Kevin Connors from the Bavarian State Opera Munich in the Parish Church of Brand
Sunday, October 22: Trumpet and organ concert with Dr. Dieter Lederer (trumpet) and church music director Reinhold Schelter in the parish church of Brand
Saturday, November 11: Church service with the St. Veit choir from Wunsiedel under the direction of church music director Reinhold Schelter and the St. Andreas choir from Selb with church music director Constanze Schweizer-Elser in the Brand parish church
