The Porcelain Route passes through former and existing porcelain production sites. Starting in the Fichtel Mountains, the route runs through the Steinwald, Stiftland, and Upper Palatinate Forest, Franconian Switzerland, and the Steigerwald, passing through the Upper Maintal-Coburg region, the Franconian Forest, and the Bavarian Vogtland, all the way to Horní Slavkov in the Kaiserwald forest in neighboring Czechia. Bohemia's first porcelain factory was once founded here.

The Local History and Mining Museum, located next to the parish church, offers insights into Erbendorf's town and economic history. The museum is dedicated, among other things, to extinct professions. On the site of the former Mitterteich AG porcelain factory, the tradition lives on. A museum with a café and an adjoining porcelain factory outlet has been created. Original workbenches, interviews with contemporary witnesses, documents, and photos tell the story of the town's porcelain production. Stiftland Museum Waldsassen

The Stiftland Museum showcases, among other things, the once-thriving porcelain industry. Various exhibits from the Stiftland and Egerland regions are displayed on four floors. This includes the largest collection of old workshops and craft tools in the Upper Palatinate. Selb & Hohenberg porcelain ad Eger

The stately Porzellanikon Museum in Selb offers fascinating insights into the history of the porcelain industry and the lives of porcelain workers. The second location in Hohenberg ad Eger is located in the former Hutschenreuther director's villa.
