Forest house and red deer enclosure

Enjoy a snack at the Waldhaus hiking restaurant!

On the way from the Pfaben hiking car park towards the Oberpfalzturm (Upper Palatinate Tower), you'll find the Waldhaus im Steinwald (Waldhaus in the Stone Forest), a popular destination for hikers and cyclists. Just before the small restaurant, red deer greet passing guests in an enclosure. A large playground is located next door.

Info Waldhaus

Drinks from the regional Friedenfels Castle Brewery are served at the bar. Of course, hot drinks like mulled wine and eggnog punch are available for guests during the colder months. The menu changes every weekend.
The Waldhaus offers space for a total of 50 people (1st room 15 people / 2nd room 35 people). The Waldhaus team is happy to accommodate groups for Christmas, family, company, or birthday parties. Advance reservations are requested.

Story

Information point on the upper floor

In addition to a small restaurant with a kitchen on the lower level, an information room was created on the upper floor. The Bavarian State Forests and the Bavarian-Bohemian Geopark set up an information center there, allowing visitors to experience the Stone Forest through play and exploration. Whether children or adults, no one should miss the building blocks or interactive modules for playing and learning.
