Essbarer Wildpflanzenpark
Waldeck

In der Natur von der Natur lernen. Ein Lehrpfad, auf dem Naschen ausdrücklich erlaubt ist!

Since 2018, the EWILPA has been guiding you to the most beautiful wild plants, orchards, and the basalt cone of the Schlossberg. Learn all about the world of plants and experience the beautiful nature of the Kemnath region.
In cooperation with the town of Kemnath, the Steinwald Nature Park, the EWILPA Foundation, Dr. Strauß, and the Waldeck Local History and Culture Association, Germany's first edible wild plant park, EWILPA Waldeck for short, opened in 2018 in Waldeck. True to the motto: "Don't learn about nature, but from nature in nature," a 5-kilometer-long circular trail with 13 information panels was created. EWILPA Waldeck consists of numerous sections, where the characteristic, edible wild plants are presented on an information panel. The circular trail connects the individual sections. In a small space, visitors can learn about a variety of edible wild plants. The path leads past, among other things, an orchard meadow, fields with hedges and tree-lined avenues, a riparian forest, a wet meadow, a deciduous and mixed forest, a tall herb meadow, a lean meadow, and a basalt rock, the Schlossberg with its historic ruins. The park is worth visiting not just once, but several times, even at different times of the year.
